Biographical Note
Dr. Thomas C. Südhof was named director of the Center for Basic Neuroscience. In his capacity as director, Dr. Südhof held the Loyd B. Sands Distinguished Chair in Neuroscience. In 1997, the National Academy of Sciences presented Südhof with their Award in Molecular Biology for his study of how information is relayed in the brain.
