Dr. Dennis Burns graduated from UT Southwestern Medical School in 1978 and completed his internship in Internal Medicine (1978-1979) and residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (1983) at Parkland Memorial Hospital. In 1985, he completed a fellowship in Neuropathology at Parkland Memorial Hospital. A faculty member at UT Southwestern since 1983, Dr. Burns holds the Jane B. and Edwin P. Jenevein, M.D., Chair in Pathology. In 2016, he received the UT System Board of Regents' Outstanding Teacher Award.
