Dr. Tinsley R. Harrison sitting at his desk surrounded by paperwork in his office. Dr. Harrison's signature is visible in the lower right corner of the photo.
Dr. Tinsley R. Harrison was a Professor of Medicine and the Dean of the Faculty at Southwestern Medical College from 1944-1946.
He remained on the faculty at Southwestern until 1950.
He is famous worldwide as the first editor-in-chief of the medical textbook 'Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine.' He worked on the book while at Southwestern and it was first published in 1950. Nine Southwestern faculty were contributors to the book.
In this photo, the rectangle on the wall above the phone was the simplest of all intercoms: a door to the office of his secretary, Miss. Minnie Mae Timms.
