Dr. Roger Rosenberg held the Abe (Brunky) Morris and William Zale Distinguished Chair in Neurology and Neurotherapeutics and Physiology. He was the founding director of UT Southwestern's Alzheimer's Disease Center, funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Rosenberg joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1973 and from that year until 1991, he chaired the Department of Neurology.
He has edited and contributed to a number of neurology textbooks and journals, including editing the 2008 book 'The Molecular and Genetic Basis of Neurologic and Psychiatric Disease.' His research focused on neurodegenerative diseases and Alzheimer's Disease in particular, with a secondary focus on genetic neurological diseases, especially inherited ataxias.
