Dr. Fouad A. Bashour was a professor of physiology at UT Southwestern, a recognized authority in cardiovascular disease, and an Ashbel Smith Professor. He joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 1959, and treated patients until his death. He also served on the medical staffs of a number of local hospitals. Dr. Bashour was among the Southwestern Medical School physicians who attended President John F. Kennedy after the President was shot on November 22, 1963.
