Dr. Donald W. Seldin joined the Southwestern Medical School faculty in 1951 and became Chairman of Internal Medicine the following year. Over the next 36 years, he taught several generations of medical students and garnered innumerable teaching honors. When Dr. Seldin stepped down as Chairman of Internal Medicine in 1988, an endowed distinguished chair was created in his name to honor his profound impact on UT Southwestern and its students. In 2007, Southwestern Medical School honored him again by naming one of its six newly-created colleges in his honor.
