Dr. Peter G. Snell (1938-2019) was Adjunct Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern, whose research focus was metabolic adaptation to exercise training. He was also a three-time Olympic gold medalist runner for New Zealand, winning one medal in Rome in 1960 and two in Tokyo in 1964. He wrote or co-authored 60 published papers on exercise related research. In 2000, he was named New Zealand's Sports Champion of the Century.
