Dr. William J. Fry (1928-2007) was an internationally prominent vascular surgeon and educator who served as Chairman of Surgery and Chief of Surgical Services at Parkland Memorial Hospital from 1976 to 1989. As Chairman, he automatically became chief of the Surgery Service at Parkland Memorial Hospital and assumed the Dr. Lee Hudson-Robert R. Penn Chair in Surgery. Dr. Fry was best known for his pioneering research, publication and clinical work in pancreatic and renovascular surgery.
