Dr. Masashi Yanagisawa is a Professor of Molecular Genetics and holds the Patrick E. Haggerty Distinguished Chair in Basic Biomedical Science. His research interests are the molecular genetics of sleep/wake regulation, and orphan GPCRs and their neuropeptide ligands. He is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and has been honored by election to the prestigious National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Yanagisawa joined the faculty of UT Southwestern in 1991.
