The Florence Bioinformation Center was completed in 1974 as part of the group of new buildings surrounding the Eugene McDermott Plaza. The plaza's atrium is in the foreground.
The Florence building houses the UT Southwestern Library and a variety of clinical and administrative offices. The building is named for Fred F. Florence, who was a member of the Southwestern Medical Foundation board in the 1940s.
