In this photo, Dr. Rupert E. Billingham celebrates his birthday with colleagues in the Department of Cell Biology. Behind Dr. Billingham, from left to right, are Frederick Grinnell, Ph.D., Gaylord Throckmorton, Ph.D., and John Fuseler, Ph.D. The cake was decorated with Wonder Woman on it. Dr. Billingham was Chair of the Southwestern Medical School Department of Cell Biology from its inception in 1971 until his retirement in 1986. He was a pioneer in the fields of reproductive immunology and organ transplantation immunology.
