Description

This page from the 1916-1917 Baylor College of Medicine "Annual Announcement" shows Dallas hospitals and clinics of the era. Those shown include (left to right, top to bottom) City Hospital (i.e., Parkland Hospital), Texas Baptist Memorial Sanitarium (later called Baylor University Hospital), [Baylor] Clinic Building, Dallas City Baby Camp (see below), Woodlawn Hospital (the city hospital for tuberculosis patients), and the [Baylor Medical] College Building. The "Baby Camp" building shown was built in 1914 on the grounds of Parkland Hospital as a treatment center for sick infants from low-income families. "Baby Camp" was an early predecessor of Children's Medical Center of Dallas. This page was digitized from the Baylor University College of Medicine "Annual Announcement" for 1916-1917.
