Dr. Herbert C. Tidwell received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1930. He was a faculty member at Johns Hopkins University (1930-1935), Duke University (1935-1936), Wake Forest College (1936-1938), and Baylor University (1938-1943) before joining the Department of Biochemistry at Southwestern Medical College in 1943. Dr. Tidwell was Chair of the Biochemistry Department from 1943 to 1963 and was appointed an Emeritus Professor in 1969. This photo appeared in the 1963 medical school yearbook, "Iatros."
