Description

Dr. Charles F. Gregory was professor and chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at Southwestern Medical School from 1956 until his death in 1976. In addition to his roles as a highly-regarded teacher and practitioner, he served Southwestern in many other capacities. He treated Texas Governor John Connally on November 22, 1963, after Connally was wounded in the same shooting that killed President John F. Kennedy. Dr. Gregory’s treatment of Connally is described on pages 67-69 of the January 1964 issue of Texas Medicine in the article “Three Patients at Parkland.”
