This cartoon appeared in the 1949 edition of the Southwestern Medical College yearbook, "Caduceus". (It is not known if the cartoon was also in the 1943 "Texas Ranger"; the creator would have been 13 years old at that time.) The cartoon's creator, Rowland Wilson (1930-2005) was born in Dallas and graduated from the University of Texas. He drew cartoons for "Texas Ranger", a student magazine, while at the University of Texas. He would go on to become both a cartoonist and animator.
