This photo, taken from the roof of the pavilion at the campus entrance, shows the final stages in construction of the McDermott Plaza. The Jonsson Building (on the left) and Green Science Building (on the right) adjoin the Plaza.
In November, 1972, while the construction was in progress, the former Southwestern Medical School campus was reorganized to include three schools: Southwestern Medical School, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the School of Allied Health Sciences, and was renamed "The University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas."
