Training physicians for World War II battlefields was an important early mission of Southwestern Medical College. All male students were required to be in the military, due to the nation being at war. This photo was digitized from the 1944 College yearbook ("Caduceus"). It shows the senior student platoons, with the caption in the yearbook simply as, "Senior Platoons." Parkland Hospital is visible behind the platoons.
