Dr. Charles Dale Coln joined the faculty of the UT Southwestern Department of Surgery in 1969. He became chairman of the Division of Pediatric Surgery and director of the Pediatric Trauma Unit at Parkland Memorial Hospital. In this photo, Dr. Coln (second from left) is meeting informally with interns or residents in a hallway of Parkland Memorial Hospital. Dr. Coln performed the first renal transplant at Children's Medical Center. He remained at UT Southwestern until the 1980s and retired as director of pediatric surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in 2005.
