Excavation for the foundation of the Hoblitzelle Building
The Hoblitzelle Building (begun in 1956, and completed in 1958) was the second academic building on Southwestern Medical School's Harry Hines Blvd. campus. It was built attached to the back of the Cary Building. Although originally called the Clinical Science Building, less than one year after its dedication it was renamed in honor of Karl Hoblitzelle, a member of the Southwestern Medical Foundation Board of Trustees and a donor to Southwestern Medical School.
