Description
Starting a few years after the Gulf War (which took place from August 2, 1990 to February 28, 1991), Dr. Robert Haley of Southwestern Medical School began conducting groundbreaking research into Gulf War Syndrome. His research was supported by both federal funding—secured with the support of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison—and funding from Ross Perot. In 2008, Dr. Haley, Senator Hutchison, and Mr. Perot were photographed together in the lobby of the Sprague Clinical Sciences Building after a press conference announcing federal funding for Dr. Haley’s Gulf War Syndrome research.
