Dr. Donald W. Seldin joined the Southwestern Medical School faculty in 1951, and the next year became Professor and Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine. He led the department for 36 years and was instrumental in building Southwestern into the institution it is today. He recruited distinguished physicians and researchers to the campus and guided the development of the brightest of his own students into brilliant Southwestern faculty.
