Gill, Arthur Grollman, Charles G. Duncan, Robert W. Lackey, Herbert C. Tidwell, S. Edward Sulkin, and Robert Pike. Southwestern Medical College opened its doors in 1943. The name of the school changed to Southwestern Medical School on September 1, 1949, when it became part of the University of Texas System.
