Carol Tamminga, M.D., Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Chief of the Translational Neuroscience Division in Schizophrenia, is an internationally recognized expert on schizophrenia, which is characterized by hallucinations and delusions that can be so realistic for those afflicted with the illness that normal life becomes extremely difficult for them.
