Description

In this lecture, Sharon Riley will talk about the rich history of Zale Lipshy University Hospital and St. Paul Hospital, which were consolidated under the banner and ownership of UT Southwestern in 2005. The move was a critical step in ensuring that UT Southwestern remains a national and international medical destination for people seeking top-quality, specialized care. Consolidation also allows UT Southwestern physicians to deliver seamless care and service to all their patients, whether they are in an outpatient clinic or in the hospitals. Riley will highlight the work of key physicians and the clinical programs they are developing or expanding to further UT Southwestern's status as a top-tier academic medical center. She will also discuss the planned construction of a new hospital tower, which will house the emergency room, operating rooms, and intensive care units.
