Dr. Atticus James Gill was a faculty member in Pathology from 1943 to 1978 and was dean of Southwestern Medical School from 1954 to 1967. As this photo shows, faculty offices in the Southwestern Medical College's prefabricated plywood buildings (often called "the shacks") on Oak Lawn Avenue were spartan.
