Description

Construction of UT Southwestern’s new 460-bed William P. Clements, Jr. University Hospital began in 2011. On December 11, 2012, a “Topping Off” ceremony was held to signal that the building had reached its full height. In accordance with the “Topping Off” tradition, an evergreen tree—symbolizing growth and good luck—was raised to the top of the building. The new hospital is named after a former governor of Texas, and is located on a 32-acre site on Harry Hines Blvd. between Record Crossing and Mockingbird Lane. The hospital opened in December 2014.
