The dedication of the Hoblitzelle Building took place on April 16, 1959. Seated on the speaker's platform and pictured are (left to right) Dr. Logan Wilson, President of the University of Texas, Mr. Karl Hoblitzelle, Mr. Fred Florence. Hoblitzelle and Florence were trustees of and donors to the Southwestern Medical Foundation. Although first called the Clinical Science Building, less than one year after its dedication the building was renamed in honor of Karl Hoblitzelle.
