Dr. Arthur Grollman was one of Southwestern Medical School‘s founding faculty. He joined the staff in 1944, shortly after the school opened in 1943, and retired in 1977, becoming Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine. An internationally-known researcher, he was the first to develop a method of determining human cardiac output, and pioneered studies on the effect of kidney function on hypertension. In 1936, he published the classic book, “The Adrenals.” In all, he wrote eight textbooks and more than 400 scientific articles.
