Description

In the first years of Southwestern Medical College, the male students of the College were in the Army Specialized Training Program, since the nation needed doctors to treat the injuries of World War II. In this photo, Dr. Donald H. Slaughter, Dean of Students, sits in the front row on the right. Next to him is seated General William Lee Hart, M.D., who later became Dean of the College. Most seats beyond the first row are occupied by male students wearing military uniforms, with an occasional person wearing white.
