Southwestern Medical College was the first educational institution in the world to offer the Master of Medical Art degree. Patricia N. O’Neill received the first Master of Medical Art degree on June 3, 1947. Presenting the degree is Edward H. Cary, M.D., President of Southwestern Medical Foundation.
