Description

A crowd is gathered in front of Southwestern Medical School's first building on its Harry Hines Blvd. campus for the dedication ceremony. The date is January 29, 1955. The building was first known as the Basic Science Hall. In 1960, Edward H. Cary's name was added, to honor his role as the driving force behind the founding of the medical school. In the photo, Parkland Memorial Hospital's 1954 building is partially visible at the top.
