Description

In 1922, Baylor University College of Medicine bought the former East Dallas City Hall (built in 1886, and later converted to a school), at the corner of Gaston Avenue and College Avenue (later Hall Street) to house its operations. This photo shows the building (on the left) in the 1920s or 1930s, after it was painted white. Cary Hall was named after Dr. Edward H. Cary, who was dean of the College from 1903 to 1920. The building on the right is Ramseur Science Hall. Baylor University College of Medicine moved to Houston in 1943.
