Description

Woodlawn Hospital was the Tuberculosis Unit of the Dallas County Hospital System, which also included Parkland Hospital on Maple Avenue. Residents and interns of Parkland's Medicine Service were rotated through Woodlawn Hospital for training, as were students at the Parkland School of Nursing. This photo was digitized from the 1951 Parkland School of Nursing yearbook (titled "The White Cap"). According to a description of Woodlawn in "The White Cap", Woodlawn was located "a mile west of Parkland." After Parkland Hospital moved to Harry Hines Blvd. in 1954, Woodlawn moved to the old Parkland building on Maple Avenue.
