On December 10, 1994, UT Southwestern faculty member Dr. Alfred G. Gilman received the 1994 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in Stockholm, Sweden. Dr. Gilman received the award for his discovery of G proteins and the role they play in cell-to-cell communication.
