Dr. Woodring (Woody) Wright was a professor of cell biology with Dr. Jerry Shay who is still employed as a professor at UT Southwestern.
Their research showed that human cells immortalized by the addition of telomerase maintained their normal chromosome complement and did not show any attributes of cancer cells.
