Dr. Gladys J. Fashena became a full professor in 1949. Dr. Fashena was a pioneer in pediatric cardiology, and later established the pediatric cardiology department at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. She was a popular and effective teacher, and was recognized by medical students for her teaching excellence.
