Dr. Jonathan Uhr (1927-2024) was Professor Emeritus of Internal Medicine and Microbiology at UT Southwestern and held the Raymond and Ellen Willie Distinguished Chair in Cancer Research. He chaired the Department of Microbiology for 25 years, from 1972 to 1997. In 1984, he was honored with membership in the National Academy of Sciences, and in 1993, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
